Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are registered nurses who have undergone extra training. They can assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe and make referrals for patients.

Paramedic

Undertakes majority of home visits on behalf of doctors. Liaises with doctors to formulate a treatment plan and follow up where necessary

Practice Nurses

We have a team of qualified and registered practice nurses. As well as dealing with dressings, injections and baby clinics they run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists

Health Care Assistants work under the supervision of qualified nursing staff and can see patients for simple wound care, clinical assessment and assist in minor surgical procedures. Phlebotomists are specially trained clinical support workers who take blood samples from patients for testing in hospital laboratories.

Proactive Care Nurse

Provides proactive medical care to a caseload of vulnerable patients (including home visiting), to improve the quality of care these patients receive and to reduce the risk of emergency hospital admission. Works closely with our community teams.

Musculoskeletal Team

We help to diagnose and treat any musculoskeletal problems in people over the age of 18.

Pharmacists

We help with medication queries. We ensure your hospital discharge is reconciled with your records. We audit our prescribing to ensure we provide safe care. we monitor 'high risk' medications.

Pharmacy Technicians

Assists the Pharmacists to maximise safe prescribing and to reduce wasted medicines.

Health and Wellbeing Coach

Works closely with patients who will usually have one or more long term conditions. Also takes a proactive approach to preventing illness in patients where obesity, lack or fitness or poor nutrition is a risk factor for their future health.

Practice Management

The Practice Manager, Gillian Herbert, is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice management team support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Receptionists

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses.

Secretarial and Administration Team

Our secretaries process all referral letters and reports leaving the Practice. Our Administrators manage incoming documents, patient registration, recall letters for specialist clinics and routine screening eg cervical smear screenng, childhood immunisations. They also process medical and insurance reports, sick notes and online access applications amongst many other things.
