Chaperone Policy

We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that the best practice is being followed at all times and the safety of everyone is of paramount importance.

We will always respect your privacy, dignity and your religious and cultural beliefs particularly when intimate examinations are advisable - these will only be carried out with your express agreement and you will be offered a chaperone to attend the examination if you so wish.

You may also request a chaperone when making the appointment or on arrival at the surgery (please let the receptionist know) or at any time during the consultation.  If a chaperone is not available it might be necessary to re-schedule your appointment.

Your healthcare professional may require a chaperone for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.  If you would like more information on chaperones please speak to a member of staff.
