BASINGSTOKE HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ALDERMASTON ROAD, BASINGSTOKE RG24 9NA
See www.stagecoachbus.com for up-to-date timetables.
There are several parking areas available, as well as a drop off point and several disabled parking spaces available outside the main entrance. Please allow extra time on arrival, as parking is sometimes difficult. Public car parks are barrier controlled and a pay on exit scheme is in operation.
What Will Happen When You Get There
Park in the Patient Car Park and make your way to the Emergency Department. Please enter through the main Entrance 2 for walking patients and you will meet a Triage Nurse on arrival. Please inform the nurse that you have an APPOINTMENT AT THE ACUTE RESPIRATORY HUB.
They will direct you to the ARI Waiting Area, where you will be seen by one of the clinicians on duty. Your clinician will be wearing personal protective equipment and you will be required to wear a mask on entering the building. The assessment is likely to include checking your temperature with a thermometer and measuring the amount of oxygen in your blood using a fingertip monitor, as well as checking pulse and breathing rate.
The clinical team at the Respiratory Hub will be able to access your full Primary Care medical notes so will be able to see any previous relevant Medical History. If you do not want this to happen, please inform your GP.
What Happens Next
You will be advised on what treatment and follow up is needed. Most patients will be able to go home. If you need a prescription, then this will be sent to your usual pharmacy. If you need to be admitted to hospital or another facility this will be arranged, and you will be told what to do.
